http://matlabserver.cs.rug.nl/cgi-bin/matweb.exe this is an online program you can use to test images, its a edge detection is to mark the points in a digital image at which the luminous intensity changes sharply.

This is not full proof as I uploaded an image I did not edit and then an image where I edited myself in and a firel place and candles, it picked up that i was off quite a bit, but the candles and fire place was picked up minimally.

With technology there is realy NO WAY to tell completely because if someone had the time, and lets face it some people do, then they could fool arround with an image to make it almost perfect. I know this as it was done to me by someone else!

So yea try that online program out, you have to have acess to FTP and just a note the password for the FTP is a space not nothing:)

If you have a relatively good photo program you can tell most of the armature doctoring with it. Just blow the photos up to a huge size and look carefully at the pixels. If they have been changed, doctored, or altered the changed parts will not match the pixels of the original. If you are talking about professional doctoring of photos, then you are going to have to spend a lot of money and also become very proficent at analyzing the results. I use Paint Shop Pro, but the best program is Adobe Photo Shop, which if you get the Proversion is also very expensive.
