The Horcruxes
1. DIARY - destroyed
2. RING - destroyed
3. Slytherin's LOCKET - unknown where & IF destroyed yet (but I have a theory check it out on My Theories page)
4. Hufflepuff's CUP - unknown whereabouts
5. Nagini - wherever Voldie stashed her
6. Something of Ravenclaw's OR Gryffindor's - unknown What & Where
Rules of a Horcrux
1.Object must be collectible, as a trophy and chosen with some care
2. Object must have a powerful Magical history
3. Objects that, in themselves, have a certain grandeur
Jo has said the sorting hat is not a horcrux, because horcruxes do not call attention to themselves. Even though Harry does not call attention to himself, he has a lot of attention on him. I doubt he would make a good horcrux.
Harry is basically a half blood, and ol' Voldy wouldn't consider him good enough to hold a part of his soul.

There was the ring and the diary, and Dumbledore figured Nikini the snake was another. Certainly the locket that was NOT at the bottom of the chalice in the cave was one. Hufflepuff's cup was one, apparently. And Dumbledore seemed to suggest that Harry himself was one.
1. Marvolo's ring
2. Riddle's diary
3. The locket
4. Hufflepuff's cup
5. Nagini the snake
6. Harry Potter himself

Hufflepuff's cup ought to be a horcrux and Slytherin's locket IS one. Other main suspects are Nagini, voldemort's pet snake and something of Gryffindor's or Ravenclaw's. I don't think Gryffindor's sword'll be one because, why on earth would Voldemort leave a part of his soul so open to his arch enemies? He's not stupid. Then... Harry's scar... that's a good possibility actually. Explains why Voldemort could possess him so fast. If it IS one, JKR'll have to kill off Harry and that's not a very fantastic ending really. In what kind of a story does the hero suffer all the miseries of life and then just... die? I hope she wont kill him.. *sighs*

Don't know, but whatever RAB nicked from the cave is probably at Grimmauld Place (the Portuguese translator has confirmed that this does indeed stand for Regulus Black).
