If you want to write about a famous person, I think two of the most interesting people are Mother Teresa and His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and it is easy to find lots of information on them.
If you want to write about a topic rather than person, consider something controversial such as capital punishment or use of medicinal marijuana.
You may want to think of a topic no one else will write about. Consider something such as why life is harder for left handed people, or how birth order (first child, only child, middle child, etc.) affects personality.
I hope this helps.

An intersting topic might be to selct an urban legend and disect it- when I was in high school in the 70s, I did one on the rumor that Paul McCartney had died in a car accident and had been replaced by a look alike- it was amazing how much information I found about the subject. Or just pick someone you admire and look for information. Find someone who was more than just a media star but who actually did/does things to help others. Or reseach a different culture. When I was teaching I got some great research papers from my students- like the "History of the Loch Ness Monster" , "Egyptian Mummification and the Afterlife" and "Life in the Medeival Castle" (this student even found information about where they slept, what they ate and where they went to the bathroom!!). Good luck!

Write about real people and their feelings - your normal everyday people, like working mothers. Their feelings, their realities...
You may also write about business interests or your passions.
