Is it a symbol of oppression or freedom?

To me, the American flag is a symbol of liberty. It also represents all the blood and sacrifice that has been shed in order to obtain and keep those freedoms.

To me, it's a symbol of freedom and my home. To others it it is a symbol of oppression. Whether that feeling is justified or not doesn't really matter.

I am under the belief that we are to not have any idol.
If someone is willing to kill for it, die for it, or injure another because of their lack of respect for it, then it must be idolized.
I know of several instances where others have been harmed, downtrodden, and harassed because of their treatment towards this piece of cloth.
Yet, if the same individuals were to treat a bible in public in the same fashion, they would have been left alone.
Idolism? I believe so.
I would defend the rights of others to believe in what they choose, but would not defend an action in which they would suppress others rights to believe differently.

It is a piece of material, that represents freedom, and the blood of those who have shed their's to preserve our freedom.
Although, I fly mine proudly, in a neighborhood of Los Angeles, where most fly the Mexican flag, I never believed in pledging my allegience to a piece of cloth.

The Stars and Stripes is symbol of glory on the liberation of freedom back in world war two with how the west was won on planet earth.
Thank to the stars and stripes the young ones were able to exist on planet earth.
The glory was lost with time that cause the misery of the young ones in making a monkey out of themselves in planet of apes.
