I don't think anybody outside America respects Bush or can understand how such an idiot was elected into office.
The US new media peddle propaganda, so many Americans have no idea how much of a disaster Bush has been for them.
Just like the "nobody predicted the levees breaking" and "nobody predicted 9/11" and the "Saddam bought Yellow Cake" spin, the "spread democracy via carpet bombs" is consumed as fact.

Even if you had proof of something which couldn't be hidden like the size of an elephant fitted into a court room before a judge, the defence lawyer can prove it is not an african elephant but an asian elephant.
And the press will amplify every fact in such a way that it makes the judge unsure and doubtful of the plaintiff's case.
