You might just see if it has lint clogged up inside the vent. I had one that barely heated and that was the problem. Talking about the vent that goes inside the dryer also the one that blows outside sometimes clogs up with lint. It could also be the thermostat.

Egghead's answer is correct as far as it goes, but there's a little more to it. If you have a BREAKER box, then the double breaker that runs your dryer is probably ok if the drum is turning. If, however, you have a separate box, called a service disconnect, that runs to the dryer, and it has glass or cartridge fuses in it, then check both of the fuses. If one of them goes bad, there will continue to be enough current to run the drum while not enough to make the element heat. IF there's no fuses in the line, then check the top of the element case, there should be a high limit thermostat, that acts more like a fuse, and if blown will not let the element heat. A quick test is to connect the two leads that come to the thermo. together and check to see if the heat starts up when the dryer is turned on. If it does then that's your culprit.

Dryers run on split 220v breakers. Make sure that both of the breakers supplying power to the plug are fipped up. I've had this happen to me.
