Location of Terminal 4 from Terminal 1 at Heathrow?

Can anyone out there tell me the quickest way to get from Terminal 1 at Heathrow to Terminal 4. I am flying from Dublin to London over the Xmas period and then from LHR to Calgary. I have never travelled from one terminal to another. Can you go by bus or do you have to go by train? Any map directions would be very appreciated. Thanks.

Terminal 4 is physically separate from the other 3 terminals. There is a free shuttle bus and you can use the Heathrow Express and the underground free of charge to transfer.
