I'm 18 years old, and have had my period regularly since I began in 5th grade. Starting in September, I started bleeding on random days, and at the end of the month, I didn't get it. I haven't gotten my period since my last one in August. I haven't had sex, so I'm obviously not pregnant. Also, my doctor switched my birth controls, since i've been on the first one for about 4 years, but I still didn't get my period after I finished the pack. What are other reasons for why i've missed it for so many months?

I went to the doctor in October, and she said it was because I've been on the first pill for too long. I have another appointment next week.

Could be a thyroid problem or polycystic overian syndrome (PCOS). . . It may be you're going through a lot of stress, or depending on the BC, some BC methods do actually stop your menses because of the hormones in it. You should probably make an appt to see your doc.

if you are an athlete and your body fat is very low, or you have recently been ill and had a sudden drop of m=body mass it will effect your menses. You may also be having a difficult time adjusting to the new hormones in the newest BC your Dr, precised. Many things can effect your period, if it continues much longer call your Dr. and ask for a check up just to make sure everything is OK.

Schedule another appointment with your doctor he/she knows best what's going on in your body.

go to another doctor, have comparative study of their diagnosis. Request for what proper laboratories to be given to you.
