I only visited Amsterdam; here´s my choice:
Van Gogh Museum :
http://www3.vangoghmuseum.nl/vgm/index.j...
Rijksmuseum deserves a visit too fro the selection of Dutch painters; I loved the Night Watch:
http://www.rijksmuseum.nl/index.jsp........
Anne Frank house and museum; impressive the way that family lived during the terrible days of the war:
http://www.annefrank.org/content.asp?pid...
Go the Flower Market; you´ll see the endless varieties of flowers!!
Go for a tour through the canals.
Rent a bike and cyple around the city, it´s not very big and there´s a wonderful bike lane.
Visit one of the Diamond Factories, amazing!
Munt Plein (Munt Square), there´s a beautiful tower there.
Rembrandt Plein (Rembrandt Square); there´s a wonderful representation in metal of The Night Watch; at night is just wonderful.
Go along Kalverstraat, a long, pedestrian shopping street.
Visit this site:

I found it really useful and try its webcam. I did so before going and found out the name of one of the shops there; then once there, I used to stand at a fixed time for a couple of minutes so that my children could see me from home!!
Visit the Churches; I loved Oude Kirke (Old Church); West Church seemed to be beautiful in the outside, but it was closed when I was there. Check this site for churches:

In Amsterdam:
Rijksmuseum with the Night Watch by Rembrandt
Van Gogh Museum with an incredible collection of Vincent van Gogh paintings.
Anne Frank House and Museum, very impressive.
Tour along the canals.
Visit a Diamond Factory
surroundings:
Volendam and Marken where people still wears traditional clothes.
Marken with its cheese market.
Den Haag (The Hague)
Binnenhof (inner court) and Buitenhof (outer court), a group of government buildings located in the city centre.
Mauritshuis, a truly majestic museum located in a 17th-century mansion.
The International Court of Justice and the Permanent Court of Arbitration of the United Nations in the Palace of Peace.
Madurodam, an extremely popular miniature town.
See the Palace where Queen Beatrix works and the mansion that serves as the residence of Crown Prince Willem-Alexander.
Go to the nearby coastal resort of Scheveningen and the Casino.
There is so much to see and to do in Holland that all depends on how much time you will have to spend.
Like going to Maastricht, Limburg
and to Vaals to see the Drielandenpunt (3 countries-point) where the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany border on.
The Delta Works in the Eastern Scheldt.
The Efteling fairy-tale park in the south of the country.
Rotterdam, the largest sea-port in the world.
Try to make the best of it.

You really have to visit Madurodam. It's kinda like a 'funpark' in Den Haag (The Hague). It's a really fun park, you can see the most special things of the Netherlands in small. For more information check this site:

Have fun!
