Zone Labs is awesome and they will tell you if you need to disable the windows firewall or not after you download it.
You MUST know this though, that you can ONLY REMOVE Zone Labs in SAFE MODE,not normal mode
I do now however,advise ANYONE to use Windows LIve Care.
Can't go wrong there!!! Everything is covered and it even teaches you how to back up ure things and reminds
you to,as well. This is good for me,as I tend to forget to maintian my pc. It's been a godsend to me since I had it.

Depends how you connect to the internet. If you use a normal dial up modem then sure zone alarm is better. but if you have broadband then you have a router which has a built in firewall (NAT firewall). this by its very nature is 1000% better than any software firewall.
If you have a router then you dont need firewall software, only antivirus (they are 2 different things, never make the mistake of assuming your protected because you have a firewall).

You would be better off with a different firewall. Windows only monitors incoming traffic. You need one that monitors both way. I suggest Comodo firewall. It is free and very good. You can download it at....

I Have used all kinda firewalls and security, ZA is good but it slows down your system.
What to you want to protect are you an FBI agent.
Stick to windows firewall or get kaspersky internet security it is good
or you may try zone alarm and see it yourself.

zone labs is better than windows firewall but before installin it turn off windows firewall from ur control panel and scurity center

Zonelabs firewall is the best. Do not trust the microsoft firewall.

100% better, windows only protects one way, zone alarm goes both ways,in-out. you will have to click on a banner to allow programs access to internet the first time but after that it wont ask as long as it is not a new program trying to accessthe net.it is realy easy to use and much safer than windows.
