That happens all the time. For instance Jan 1, 2,006 is new year and boxing day will be December 26 2,006. Hence the same year. That happens every year.

every year since boxing day and new year's day were given special titles; new year's day is the first day of the year, and boxing day is the 360th or 361st, depending on the leap year
