Male - we get along better and share the same interests

I'm female since you can't tell by my avatar and before I got with my fiance I had more male friends. He's an overly jealous type and seeing as how some of my guy friends were "more than friends" at one point and time I can understand. And I've noticed that once you're in a relationship whether you're a guy or girl the friends of the opposite sex kind of take a back seat. I've always gotten along better with guys then girls. Which is funny because I'm kind of prissy, not at all a tomboy. We for the most part have mutual friends now, aside from a couple of people I work with.

Females

I have more male friends because I feel I can relate to them more. I am not one of the females that likes to gossip, worry about my appearances, or shop constantly and for some reason I seem to get along better with males. There's nothing sexual behind it--when you're a female that loves music, video games, being outdoors indulging in nature, watching movies, and such you seem to have more male friends. I am a bit of an introvert also so I don't feel as social as most girls. I just feel like you can be honest with males without them being so judgmental.

if you mean close friends, then the answer will be female. If it is just normal friends, then the answer is both. The reason is that the school that I'm in, consists of both female and male. That's why the number of friends from both gender is equal.

Growing up, I only had male friends...my neighborhood was full of boys and I grew up with them. When I went to college I got put in an all-girls dorm. All my friends from that point on have been females.

Female. Males either want something more than a friendship or are too attached to their girlfriends to think of having a friendship with another female.

I just have more male friends. Because I work in a general male work area, only a few women(the demands for the job require them to be physically strong)

I have more male friends; I've always gotten along with guys more than other females because I suppose I'm more laid-back, I don't like to gossip(many women can be very catty), and I like a lot of things that are stereotypically male. I'm a tomboy, what can I say? :)

male friends - physical - easy way of meeting.
female friends - Internet - as a source of interaction with like minded females.
