Minnesota's defense is #1 in the NFL with 58.8 rushing yards allowed per game, #2 in TD's allowed this season with 5 TDs, and #1 in rushing yards per carry allowed with 2.8 yards per carry. Which players are making an impact in the run D... and how much of their success has to do with their defensive schemes (which schemes would that me)? They're not getting much recognition for their success.

Thanks!

Well part of the reason their defense is doing so well is the teams they're playing. They have played Green Bay, Detroit, Miami, Washington, and all of these teams need help with their run games. Another part of their sucess is they allow nothing up the middle, the defensive line must have decide to man up and let nothing through. Both Williams, Udeze and James ( when not hurt ) are the biggest reasons why their run game is so dominant. Everyone on the defensive side of the ball wants to step up and make a tackle or a big play, and the Vikes are on the verge of being a good team.

Well, they're only 5-7 though, and stats can be very misleading. For example, if they are easy to pass on, then they get run on less often which allows pure numbers to appear that they are difficult to run against. Overall, they do have a pretty good D, but they can't score either so they are average at best overall.
