You didn't ask how far the earth travels in one day compared to what. Most answerers assumed you meant around the sun & gave an answer of 2.57 million kilometers or 1.600 million miles. However, the sun also moves & much faster than the earth travels around the sun. The sun(& its satellites including the earth) orbit around the center of the the Milky Way galaxy in which we reside at 210 miles per second or 17.25 million miles per day or 27.8 million kilometers per day. However, our Milky Way galaxy(in which we earthlings reside) is among a group of galaxies called the Local Group of galaxies(very imaginative name) which is moving toward the constellation Leo at 600 miles per second! This information is gathered by microwave radiation satellites studying the radiation from the beginnings of the universe, COBE & other microwave satellites. The ultimate velocity of the earth compared to the beginnings of the universe is 47.7 million miles per day or 83.1 million kilometers per day! & you don't even have to pay the ticket on such a wild run, just be able to dodge the next star flying past our solar system. ha ha ha

since the distance from the earth to the sun is approx 93,000,000 miles, the earth revolution is a big circle with a diameter of 186,000,000 miles and the circumference of a circle is pi * diameter or approximately 584,335,740 miles in one year, or approximately 1,600,919.8 miles per day

The earth is travelling at 29.77km/s.

So converting that into days gives you 2,572,128km or 2,572,128,000 meters.
