i just got a 12 month membership to a gym, and i love the gym and i love the people there but now this 40yr old+ man follows me around and keeps talking to me. i try not to be rude because he's not very threatening but just annoying with his constant following and his lame small talk and cheesy grins...
what do you reckon i should do? i'm not changing gym's because i just paid for the new membership and i'm not a rude person so i don't know what to say to him. i just usually put my ipod in my ears and sort of pretend i can't notice when he's around.

also it's worth a mention that he suddenly comes at the same time i'm at the gym. i could possibly try to go at a different time but it screws my whole timetable.

where a wig and disgise yourself as much as you can so he wont notice you or you could ask one of your male friends to go to the gym with you and pretends hes your boyfriend and then that weirdo will know your not available and hopefilly he'll back off if not call me and i'll kick his *** for you

Either ignore him and he will take the hint that your not interested. Or, try to come to work out at a different time then you know he is there. If it does not stop talk with the manager of the gym about this problem.

Just put your iPod in your ears when you get there so you cant even hear him, and just ignore him. Or, this may sound weird, but you can try finding someone around your age, and hang out with them, so that the guy comes over you can be talking to that person, and he cant talk to you then

When I was young I would find myself in similar situations sometimes.
It stinks because you have a right to be there too, you paid your money.
I can tell you that politeness and being afraid to be rude will help your situation to continue.
Be rude, be loud if necessary.
Embarrass him and make sure he doesn't want to be bothering you anymore.
He will continue if you don't make him stop.
Be brave and remember you have rights too.

Be truthful. Tell him that your not interested. I wouldn't find a new gym either. Just say your flattered but not interested.
Say he's not in you age limit.

Sometimes you have to get rude. Pratice saying it in the mirror

or

say your gay. That should turn him off?

start referring to him as Grampa, it might irritate him enough to leave you alone. Tell him you came to workout not talk. Talk to the owner/manager of the gym.

Drop hints that your boyfriend is meeting you there or later after your workout. If he doesnt get the hint...........be rude!!!
