Well hum... you have gotten yourself into a situation.

I assume you and your family don't have big bucks or you wouldn't be here asking this question; therefore, that is not an option. Meaning if you had the bucks, money gets you out of anything pretty much.

Anyways, first off, you do seem to have learned your lesson... that wrong actions can cost you severely. A bad decision that takes you about 30 seconds can cost you for the rest of your life.

Now with all that said, let's figure out your options.

Oh wait, let me tell you something first. The number one way detectives get ppl to confess and the way they resolve cases is by being confident and using fear. They come to you as if they know 1000% you are guilty. They then talk of the most severe punishments in order to scare you to death getting you to confess. (I have two cousins that are detectives)

My point is until you decide what to do, DO NOT CONFESS.

Now, I assume you are guilty which would mean you copied the girl's paper or got it online. I also assume they have accused her also.

So your options are as follows:
1. If you got it from her, swear til death it was your paper and she got it from you.
2. If you got it online, you will have to confess and plead for mercy.
3. Confess completely and throw yourself at their mercy.

Now, if you are sure they are 100% positive you are guilty, then plead for mercy. Make a plea that you have NEVER done this before, it was someone else's idea and you will NEVER do it again. That's about the only way you aren't going to get kicked out of college.

If you think they are not 100% sure it was yours or not.. meaning they just don't know then get busy and find as many references to the information in the essay as you can... will look like you knew where it came from.

Good Luck and learn from this.

First of all, you knew you plagiarized. Now you want to lie to get out of it? You have the makings of a great politician. Blame it on terrorists. Worked for Bush. Seriously though, what kind of a man are you? If you want to compound your original mistake, do it and live with the consequences. If you hope to grow into a decent person, do the right thing, explain how the both of you worked jointly on the paper, never realized how much the papers were alike until brought to your attention. If it was an "honest" mistake, it deserves an honest answer. If it means a suspension, live with it and go on. You never have to remember the truth, only a lie. Good luck. DO THE RIGHT THING.

You need to take responsibility for your actions. Turning in work that is not your own is not only against university rules but may be against the law in your state. The best way to get the least punishment is to admit responsibility.

obviously you have to prove that the ideas were yours and thought up on your own. isnt plagarism pretty similar to copyright infringement? the US protects beatle songs for i think 45 years while the UK protects them for 100 years. someone producing that material without ever having heard of them could be liable in one country but not the other? are their intellectual properties more rare that they cannot be re-thought by another free individual having no knowledge of another's similar ideas? i would say you need to find a similar situation that encompasses your own enough and that rules in your favor...uhhhh uh precept? or a pre...something (legal term?)

pay attention, she's in her overdue 30's and knows issues like those take place. Why she stared for 5 minutes while you have been "asleep", it relatively is the creepy question. in line with probability she replaced into baffled that she replaced into able to witness something like that. that's no longer common, ya know. there's no longer something she would be able to do, like call the police... it relatively is going to be interesting to know what got here approximately once you 2 come head to head interior the genuine worldwide.

If you are rich and powerful, you can get out of it: Ted Kennedy, Joe Biden, and Jimmy Carter.
But, Democrat Politicians are above the law.
You're not.

You can't not tell the truth.

If you willingly confess to whatever it is you did they may be more lenient. If you lie and they expose the lie you are finished.

I hope you learned something from this.
