because rich countries have better salary. If you compare minimum wage of a rich country like USA or Japan to third world countries like Philippines or Thailand, these rich countries have a minimum wage about 10 times higher than these third world. So if a person from a poor country goes to a rich country, even with a minimum wage as salary if converted to their local currency is already big. And even with this meager amount it could help a lot in alleviating the poverty of the relatives of the person from that country where that person comes (meaning from third world). But this amount is hand to mouth existence when used in these develop countries.

That's how the country becomes rich. It collects taxes from it's citizens that are farmers, bankers, engineers, and everything else. It's the success of these private industries that the government collects taxes from to become wealthy, and these industries need educated, skilled employees.

Actually, they don't have to. Untold numbers of able-bodied Americans, don't work, have never worked, and have no intention of starting now. They just collect wel-fare, food stamps and the gratis of whatever other programs provided for them by The Nanny State. Even worse, they teach their kids this same lifestyle. For some reason tax-payers tolerate this system.
