Absolutely! I work nights & leave my wife & son at home from sundown to sunrise. Tell absolutely no one who doesn't need to know they are home alone. Don't own a gun as I've never cared for weapons, but there are times when I've thought "what if...?".
Still, I think I might draw some negative karma if I bring a gun in the home. Instead, I've secured the windows doubly, & she knows not to just answer the door to anyone. We look out the 2nd floor window to see who's knocking. Now that we have a 1 year old, there are things in life I ponder that never crossed my mind before... like taking care to be around for his lifetime.
