that's easy! the reason why a dead body can't move simply because he/she was placed in a coffin & got burried in soil so how he/she will be able to move. unless, he/she knows magic

A spiritual answer is, when a being dies the body loses over 20 grams,( according to coroners, check it out) it doesn't matter if it's a small baby or a fully grown adult. A lot of electrical activity ceases also physically cells denature and chemical reactions change or differ.:If the brain can't tell the heart and lungs to function the vital blood that carry's oxygen and nutrients to the body cell's and Carry's carbon dioxide and waste away from the body cells can't function.

When a body is dead rigor sets in and hardens it,but after several hours rigor subsides and the body becomes "soft" again. Of course it cant move on it's own,but someone else can move it.

The question shouldn't be why can't a dead body move but how can it move.

Because the soul or spirit that animates the body has left the body, and there is nothing to make it move anymore. That is why we call things with spirit animate, and things without spirit inanimate objects.

Ah, but it can move my friend. Never underestimate a dead body and the spirit that still lingers inside.

Because it is not only the body that is dead but the brain as well.If one is brain dead then there would be no body or organ function.

It can move. Well sort of. All you have to do is send an electrical stimulation to the limbs in order to make them move, preferably before rigor mortis has set it. It cannot move on its own after death whenever the electrical impulses to the brain cease, but little fluttering movements, sometimes even lifting a limb, happens after death. Although a heart or brain can cause the death of an individual, it still takes the rest of the body time to die.
