Im on a Narnia project and this is the last answer and I dont kno it. I think it's when aslan got killed by the witch.

Deep Magic was a set of laws set up by the Emperor-beyond-the sea. At the time of it's creation, it was written on a table of stone. The law stated the the White Witch was entitled to the blood of a traitor to the son of Adam to do with as she wished. If she was denied, all of Narnia would be destroyed.
The magic of Narnia represents God's mysterious and unseen ways that He continues to work through humans.It was the Deeper Magic (faith) that enabled Asian to return to the living.
Asian rose from the dead from the stone table, to show us that good prevails over evil.

The witch was actually before the movie when a previous king ruled and she was the kings executioner. All traitors to the true kings and queens were the province of the executioner. Edmund betrayed the true rulers, therefore was hers to execute but someone could elect to stand in a traitors stead. Aslan was loyal and held faith that what he was doing was right, therefore his sacrifice could only be temporarily accepted, as Edmund was a true ruler of narnia and could not really be a traitor to the crown. The deep magic is very basic in principle. It is that a sacrifice is needed to right a wrong. But if that sacrifice is a wrong sacrifice, ie loyal to the crown in a case of treason, then it cannot be accepted. This is the part the witch forgot in her eagerness to get rid of aslan, and was probably privately hoping she was in the right in her twisted version of the right thing for narnia. Try reading the rest of the books about narnia, you might find them interesting.

the deep magic are the rules aslan invented, like the one that says each traitor needs to be handed over to the withc, and also the one that says that when a selfless sacrifice is made for that traitor, the sacrificing person will not die. aslan made them, but he needs to follow them too to set a good example for everyone else.
