I have considered that most of the time. I don't think everone realizes that it will be here forever. This place is a Psych's dream. Even I can get a feel for what the person posting is like based on what they post, weather or not they allow you to contact them. If it is a disposable account that is near o points and more.
I can guess at age and more. People do reveal themselves here.

Wouldn't bother me. I would want the psychologists knowledge to grow and become far far more useful and accurate. I wouldn't change most of my answers knowing they'd be here for years either. The sooner psychological science has a greater grasp of the complete individuality of the human mind that it studies the better it may turn out for science and humanity as a whole. It would be nice to understand enough of what motivates all kinds of societies to be able to prevent wars, prejudice, ideological hatred, the formation of dangerous ideologies and all sorts of other ills that do start in the human mind and the beliefs that exist therein.

First, only very casual research could be conducted though a medium such as this, but I would probably participate in case it helped the person with his or her work. It would prolly be a class project.
Second question: I always respond knowing my answers may be on here forever. Maybe a few will help someone in future.

Psychologists `conduct surveys` every time they look at you speak to you and be with you. It is force of habit, no body anyway believes anything they read in a survey it is my experience that people treat them as a joke, and give the answers that the interviewer wants to hear.

nope.I won't change a single word.actually I really don't care how long my answers are remaining in yahoo Q&A.....And speaking of psychologists conducting surveys here, well I would tell them that look for a better place to conduct your surveys.I mean who knows that whatever people are saying here whether they are speaking the truth or not.

If this is true, then they could tell when I wasn't taking my meds. :) I really don't mind, however, if they are going to analyze me, the could do me the huge favor of giving me some insight to why I do the things I do, and why I feel the way I do. My answers are a testament of the mental state, I was in while answering. I know, because I've gone back and read them.....wondering why I wasn't on medication back then.

If you are your own person, you would not worry. Just write what you believe, there is no harm in that. Pity that many do not use this properly!
I answer the way I think and according to what I have experienced, otherwise it is not worth answering!
Good luck! (I am sure many psychologists are on here btw)

I wouldn't be surprised. No it wouldn't change my answers a bit. It's not an exact science. I'm one of those people that can't be pigeonholed easily. This isn't the venue for that anyway, but I can see how it could be used as a learning tool.

If you are looking for validation, you should take yahoo answers for what it is worth. No one here is getting paid to do surveys, and yeah most of it is truthful and i don't really think anyone cares how long their answers appear on yahoo answers.
Does that answer your question?

What's the big deal in giving your mind or opinion?
Don't you like the chance to voice out
And what more if your opinion carries weight
Better still if your words helped someone
