Is it illegal to have sex in an outside public area, like a park or field, at night? The law is different in so many countries and i just wondered what the law is for england. I'm not trying to be disgusting i'm just curious because i read something online about it and got confused.

there was a ruling on this quite recently after someone appealed after being caught only by a camera.observed by the police.

The appeal was upheld because it was maintained that as the public did not see anything, the public were not outraged, affronted or otherwise inconvenienced.

So, if you in the middle of Tescos at 6pm on Friday and shag someone, expect a little police interest. If you are in the middle of a dark wood with no-one around, have taken reasonable precautions that you are not in an area likely to be overseen then "no", it would appear that the appeal courts would say you are NOT breaking the law.

Like many English laws, things tend to "move" a little in interpretation.

According to UK law, it is illegal to have sex in a public place. A nature reserve would certainly come under this description, at any time of day or night, and so the police would have been able to charge you under the Public Order Act.

Usually the police will only act on a complaint from a third party. They could take action if an officer of the law was to catch you having sex, although it would be unusual for them to take you to court for it. Even so, there is still the potential for a charge under the Sexual Offences Act 2003 section 63 of trespass with the intent to commit a sexual offence.

So, you may have escaped prosecution this time, but it's worth knowing the risks you run before setting off in again in search of a good time.

Hope this helps!

Yes it is and in a park? What if a child walked past you and wondered what you were doing? If your looking for the thrill of having sex in a public place you can do it to where it is discrete and no one knows what your doing. Though that may be difficult you can come up with a creative way. Just make sure that there aren't any cops around or no calls the police on you or you'll be horny and in jail.

In the States, it's illegal and depending on the circumstances, you may have to register as a sex offender. While the thought of having sex in public is thrilling, it does come with a price so be careful if you choose to do it.

Yes having sex in public areas is illegal. You can't not throw him out because he's bi-polar. If that were the case you would be stuck with him for the rest of your life. I'm bi-polar and I have a good job, live comfortably with my wife, and generally don't force myself on others good intentions. He's mooching off you and he knows better. Plus he can't be to Bi-Polar as he can get people to sleep with him in a laundry room. Unless of course the people he sleeping with are bi-polar as well (joke :-]>) He needs to be in therapy/on medication, and possibly in a home under proffesional care. If his "Condition" is bad enough that he has to live with you instead of on his own, you are not equipped to care for someone like that. Time to get him the help he needs.

Well, it isnt really, but if someone was to see you and then reported you, then you would be committing an illegal act. It would come under the 'Public Disorder Act' that includes peeing in public areas and flashing.

If you offend someone then you'll get in trouble.

However, if you're really good, then you won't get caught!
