Frankly.............no !

Wait a minute............we wouldn't be able to welcome all those immigrants across here with open arms to sponge off the state and (I see this morning) drive around running people over without having to bother with irritating things like driving licenses, insurance, tax or MOTs.

yes we need to separate our selves from America. and so the more integrated we become within Europe the better.i think Europe will be a stronger force than America, for a safer place to live in the future.we also have all religions within Europe and so we would not be the first target for terrorism. and could hit back at the muslims if they thought to do so.

The new world economies (China, India) are getting stronger. Europe needs to be co-ordinated to compete. A united Europe will be a strong competitor to the US, which could be why Rupert Murdoch's "newspapers" are so anti-EU.

Among other reasons are that the EU has brought about the longest period of peace in Europe.

i can think of a couple...

freer market place for traders and commerce - lower tariffs on imports and exports etc

makes us one step closer to Europe as a whole becoming a superpower - more of an obstacle against the US doing whatever they want

I'm sure there's more but i can't think of them right now

tbh i'm more anti Europe

uk seem to implement eec directives more readily and we contribute more to funding than most states(we do get a nice rebate back tho)I would personally use the french as a comparison as they blatently refuse to implement eec directives and have no qualms about ignoring freedom of movement within eec when it comes to immigration so you could say we are more european as an island than many landlocked states..ps not saying the French are wrong to protect their borders could do with a little bit of that attitude ourselves!
