You are supposed to do your kegals all through pregnancy and even after. Do them as many times as you would like. I don't really know if they help, but I was only in labor for 2 hours and one of those hours was because the epidural slowed down the labor. It's perfectly fine to do kegels during pregnancy as often as it is comfortable (it's actually recommended). Kegels really help for vaginal births, especially if you end up needing an episiotomy. I had an episiotomy and the exercises made it not completely weak after giving birth and helped to heal the cut post-partum. A strong kegel will definitely help with pushing too.

My doctor suggested 150-200 a day but who remembers to do that. I probablly remembered to do about 25 maybe once a week.

yes it's perfectly safe and from what i remember it's actually recommended because it's supposed to help when it comes to giving birth. i don't how often you should do them but i supposed as many times a day as you would like.
