No side effects. I talk very little. If you don't count official business and if you don't count talking to the cashier or shop keeper when you shop (which is unavoidable) - I am able to not say a word for a week or two. It might sound extreme and unhealthy, but I see it as a discipline. You learn to be creative and you learn that life consists of more than just words. Many people pay so much attention to illusion and not life itself. No offense if you do like talking.

She wont get a sore throat from all the talking she used to do?! She will make people around her realise how worthwhile her comments and input into situations normally is. However...if her job involves a lot of talking which she HAS to do...she may end up unemployed?!
Why would someone want to not talk for a while?!

Nothing much. She might be a bit hoarse the first few words, but probably not. It'll just be quieter wherever she is.

Nothin, a friend of mine tried it for a whole week and he said it was a good experience but people around him tried to push and pressure him into talking.

We are all social creatures and need one another. Its therapeutic to talk about our troubles. But sometimes we have need of a quiet time too.

Perhaps you could try it and whilst you're not talking you could read a book about grammar. SHE DON'T is not good grammar unless you live in London.

well firstly she'll start to go a little crazy, then she'll be forced to go stand in a corner and rock back and forth for a while and before you know it BANG!!! her head'll explode and you'll be picking bits of brain and hair out of the curtains and sofa for months and months afterwards
