Many people will think that all Chinese girls are good at cooking,but unfortunately i can't cook at all.My mother said nobody would marry me coz i couldn't cook.You see,in China,people say that to get a man's love,you have to satisfy his stomach first.In many stories,if a man is going to devorce his wife,the poor woman will cook sth he likes to eat for him,and then he knows that his wife loves him,and he won't leave her.So maybe it's time for me to learn cooking now,after all i don't want to be abandoned.But honest,i don't like cooking.(sorry for my English,i hope u guys will understand what i'm talking about)

You don't have to! I don't know how to cook. My man cooks for me. He refuses to let me cook sometimes. I'm so terrible in the kitchen that I've burned things like Kraft dinner or even stuff in the microwave. It's nice to be able to cook something very simple though to give him a break or at least know how to make a sandwich! I think there are more ways to get to a man's heart.

I guess you'd have to start learning eventually out of necessity. I never liked cooking but when i had my family i had no other choice but to be forced to learn about cooking. There are so many simple dishes that you can do. You can start with a cookbooks or just by following recipes from the internet. There are pretty good sites about international recipes in the net. Knowledge in the kitchen is an advantage for would be wives.

Cooking is fun, i'm sorry you feel that way about it, but as everybody said you don't have to be a great chef to cook. There are really good cooking books that have easy recipes with just a few ingredients, you can start by little easy things. And as someone above mentioned, you should learn to cook for yourself not just for your husband, you can't keep eating out all your life, it's too expensive and God only knows what's being used in those dishes. I dont know your culture. Everyone needs to eat to survive and it is good to know the basics of survival whether you like it or not. I think a man also needs to learn to cook.
Plz do not believe that saying " you have to satisfy his stomach first " but you cant expect a hungry person to love anybody. He will love food and I think it is the same for a woman. Dont confuse physical needs with emotional ones.

Hi. Your English is great. And yes, you should learn some basic cooking, not for a husband, but for yourself. I am not married but I cook for myself. I want to be independent. It is not hard and it can be fun. You do not need to be an expert. Just learn a few of the most impoirtant things and you will be fine. And let the man cook too! It is a new world! :)

Cooking is not hard if you don't take it as a chore but more like a hobby.
You definitely need to learn basic cooking just for yourself. If a man is staying with you just for cooking than you don't need him or want him

I feel appreciated when ppl love the dishes I cook. Cooking for the love ones is a blessing. You will not regret if you learn it. Also, if you are staying on your own someday like me, don't tell me you want to eat out everyday?
