u have three options:
1. plane
2. train
3. boat
1. is the most expensive, fastest and safest
2. takes like a whole day! u can get a place to sleep if u want, u can also get a meal
3. i dunno how long exactly it'll take, i GUESS around 2 or 3 days (that's a pure guess) its very convenient, and the trip itself is a journey that u can and should enjoy

Take one of the charter buses from Cairo. Its more economical and they are comfortable. The bus hostess/host will point out interesting historical places you pass along the way. They speak english, french and german,
