Circumference = 2 * pi * r
Therefore r = 1000 / 2 * pi
= 159.15
Area = pi * r^2
Therefore A = 79572.5 m^2

circumference (perimeter) of a circle = pi * diameter
So, fill in information we have:
1000 = pi * diameter
Re-arrange this formula so we have diameter on its own and we can find that value
1000 / pi = diameter
So diameter = 318.30988618379067153776753 m
Leave showing on calculator so it doesn't have to be entered again.
To find area, we need the radius.
Radius = diameter / 2
So divide answer on calculator by 2.
Radius = 159.15494309189533576888376 m
To get area, you have to:
Area = pi * radius^2
(Area = pi multiplied by the radius squared)
So Area =
pi * 159.15494309189533576888376^2
pi * 25330.295910584442860969865
79577.471545947667884441881 m^2
Round off to as many decimal places as required
e.g. 5 d.p. = 79577.47155m^2

Area=Ïâ
radius = Ïâ
r
perimeter = Ïâ
diameter = Ïâ
d
d= 2r or r=d/2
p = 1000m = Ïâ
d
d = 1000m/Ï = 318.3m
d/2 = 159.15m
so
A= Ïâ
r = Ïâ
(d/2)
r=d/2 was calculated above as =159.15m so
A= Ïâ
[159.15m] = Ïâ
(25330.3m) = 79577.5m
note you were given the perimeter in a unit of length and asked to find area which is a (unit of length) and the answer is consistent with units of area.

Perimeter (C) = pi*D where D = Diameter, so D = C/pi
Area = A = pi D^2/4 = pi C^2/(4* pi ^2 = C^2/(4pi)
A = (1000)^2/4pi = 79,577.488 m^2
Just another way to do it.

Perimeter = 2 x pi x r where r = radius
1000 = 2 x pi x r
r = 500/pi
Area = pi x r^2
A = pi x (500/pi)^2
A = 79,577 m2
