I will tach you an easy way

42 = 21 x 2 = 7 x 3 x 2 = 7 x (3 x 2) = 7 x 6

or
A x B = 42 A + B =13 ---> A = 13-B
so
(13-B) x B = 42 ---> 13B - BB - 42 =0
or
BB - 13B + 42 = 0

(B - 6) x (B - 7) = 0 Leads to B = 6 or 7

if B = 6 A=7
if B = 7 A = 6
