The Local Democrat Party, which controls New Orleans, will do whatever can keep bringing millions of tax payer dollars into the city and their pockets.
Except for Chicago and New Jersey, New Orleans has the most corrupt government in the country.

As someone who used to go to NOLA every weekend before katrina, and has been there many times after katrina, I seriously dont think that the government will rebuild the 9th ward. they will sell it off as "condemned" land to the corporations who will then turn it into high end golf resorts and stuff like that. I love my friend from the 9th ward, but honestly if they dont get up and start rebuilding it themselves they are gonna lose it!

From the way it looks now, nothing has changes there since after Katrina. Sure, you have a few people there, but the 9th ward still looks like bombed out Iraq.

I think the 9th ward should be turned into a giant city recreation area and the former residents intigrated into other neighborhoods.

Anything below sea level should not be rebuilt. Either fill in the area with rocks and dirt, to get it above sea level, or build houses on old river barges, to let them float if the water rises again.

They should not rebuild areas below water level at flooding.

no, I think they will see this disaster as an opportunity to "clean up" what they want to. Maybe it needs to be done. Who would want to live there now anyway ?
