its one of the oldest tropical rain forest in the world n houses lots of wild animals[ but here you have to have lucks to being able to spots those wild animals ]. The river still relatively very clean except may be during rainy season[right now].

You have to loves adventure n outdoor activities to enjoy Taman Negara, otherwise it would be very tiring.

Go to Kuala Tempeling for your boat ride, that would take you up to Taman Negare HQ, alternatively One can drive straight to Taman Negara this day because beside the 2 to 3 hours boat ride, the road leading to Taman Negara was tarred.[ from Jerantut to Taman Negara is about 60km ] but required a short boat ride across the river to get to the HQ.

Yes, foods at the Taman Negara Resort is a little expensive so try those at the river[floating restaurants]. In fact there are many accommodation available beside the Taman Negara Resort, but they are on the opposite side of the HQ, where you park your car.

Problem? [1] like i mentioned before, its your physical fitness that determine how well you enjoy your trip ! [2] rain + leeches, normally more rain mean more leeches, so be prepare.

Benefits? wow, you got to enjoy the wild n natural surrounding where the virgin rain forest is ! If you have the times than try hiking up[very challenging] the highest mountain in West Malaysia - Gunung Tahan.

Benefits; One of the few large areas of unspoiled wilderness in E Malaysia, Lots of wildlife, good guides, interesting boat ride to reach the area, great hikes, tree top walk is thrilling.
Problems; Hot and humid; leeches sometimes; If you stay at the Taman Negara Resort, do not take Hut # 8, that is invaded every day by long-tailed macaque monkeys. The food at the resort is pretty expensive, you can eat more cheaply across the river.
