i am ashamed for you. dont give me this bullsh!t about the mans height, arm strength, and the stereotype of being a running quarterback comparing him to mike vick. his height 6'0 is no isssue because the average height of the ohio state o-line players is about 6'4 and i did not see troy having trouble looking for his targets. his arm strength is is pretty good in which i would compare it to tom bradys arm strength which may not have much velocity but are still able to throw deep balls. and stop categorizing the man for being athletic which is not his fault and comparing him to mike vick because he is a pure passer he looks at his targets and if they are covered dont blame him for running the ball its what a quarterback should do to gain yards your just mad because he makes it look easy. i predict troy will have a great career and to those who doubt him slap yourself in the future for you will remember what i have said. hell i knew philip rivers was better than eli i should be a nfl exe

freshslate your right about those qb's you mentioned but im appaulled by hearing talks about troy might not even be in the first round which is f@#$ing stupid just because of his height. nfl people should be tried in the supreme court for being prejudice to shorter players because height does not make the man its the heart and troy has the biggest ive seen this year.

Watching Troy on NFL Pregame - hmmmmm - guess they are interested! The guy will go high. He already runs a pro spread - very well . He has a rifle for an arm , he doesn't throw a rainbow like Quinn. He surely knows how to find the open man judging from the number of guys who share receptions on OSU. No nagging injuries, he can juke like a running back when he has to and he is smart as hell and hes a winner. Someone will grab this guy quick. And guess what......Justin Zwick the #2 QB at OSU Is going to get a contract too.

The height thing might be a problem because the o-line will be taller, but he is very athletic and when he gets the ball if he just steps to the side he will be able to hit his target wherever it might be on the field. I think that he is like Mike Vick in one way, great in college. Donovan McNabb could run too, but he chooses to pass instead. Troy could have a great career as long as he doesn't start running the ball for no apparent reason.

I dont doubt his carreer in the nfl. infact i agree with u its bs talking about him going 2nd - 3rd round, i even posted a question about that here http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AkTC1E2H1fwayKl1mRpVKd_sy6IX?qid=20061206181206AA95Y7w

and heres one answer i got
"What do you know about the draft?

Let's look at it this way, you are vastly overrating Troy Smith. Let's start off with his height, he's listed at 6'1 which is undersized but is going to measure up to 5'11. How many QBs in the NFL that start and go in the 1st round are 5'11?

Then you would throw out the argument that he has tall OL but guess what? He does not run a pro-style offense which makes his height much more crazy. You won't win in the NFL out of the Shotgun every year or through 4-5 WR sets.

Now let's go to his deep-ball strength. He has no deep-ball accuracy nor strength whatsoever. I've seen Ted Ginn slow down countless times in order to try and catch a lameduck by Smith. He won't throw for many yards in the NFL with that arm of his.

Now some of you are acting like Smith is this amazing athlete which he is not. Vick, Vince Young, Seneca Wallace, etc. all ran in the 4.3-4.4 range which is freakishly fast. Smith runs around a 4.7 which is not bad but hardly faster than Brady Quinn.

He did not tear up Texas, I don't know where that claim came from and Michigan was ran over rather than thrown over.

Smith may be a first-round pick but top 10? Here's a link, go the Forum and say that and see what happens.

If I seem mean, I apologize as I have answered this question countless times."

this answer opposesd everything u and i have argued against. but this guy's answer about tryo not beiong able to throw the deep ball, not tearing up michigan, or texas has to b the most bs ive heard. not throw tthe deep ball? uanyone who says that hasnt seen troy smith play. have u guys seen hs passes donw field to ginn or gonzakes. so he didnt tear up michigan? he threw or 316 yards 3 touchdowns in front of a croowd of 100000, and became only the second ohio sate qb to be 3 - 0 vs. michigan. he threw for 200 + yds and 2 scores against texas @ texas, and i presume everyone knows how wild texas's crowd can get, he won the heisman, he is a pure passer, runs only when he has to, and runs well for that matter. he's just an inch smaller than drew brees and has a similar playing style. troy smith should go 1st round 1st overall according to me.

Hiesman winning QBs do not have a good reputation at all after going tinto the NFL. Not to say Smith won't do well but it just seems that so many of 'can't miss QBs' that come into the NFL flop hirroibly. Odds are against Smith being anything more than a average NFL QB.

Troy Smith has to enter the NFL Draft this year because his college eligibility is complete. He is a senior and therefore has no opportunity to return to college to play anymore. Check out the Mock Draftboards that are available to see his projected draft position.

The thing is that I haven't heard any of this being said about Smith. Other than the height thing (which I think going in the picks 20-40 range in the draft- most likely to a better team) I haven't heard anyone really criticize him. Never heard of the Vick thing although it is common everytime someone sees an AA quarterback you think he is going to be a "RUNNING QB" from how the media talks about athleticism and things of that nature. Look at Leftwich and Jason Campbell, they are both "PURE POCKET PASSERS"

Heisman winners are rarely successful in the NFL, in fact most are absolute failures. You just never know until he actually has to play at a different level. Action in the NFL is so much faster and the talent difference is huge.

I, FOR ONE DO NOT DOUBT HIS CAREER. First he will be picked up at a pretty decent draft pick then they will find out that he can't cut the mustard and eventually wind up as a 3rd string QB for the Oakland Raiders.
