Might sound silly, but I have heard that it does and want to see if it's true? I've worn one to bed for awhile now mostly cause I live with my parents and in case I get up during the night or first thing in the morning and someone else is up, I'm not small chested so I really dont want to chance that, lol plus I'm just used to wearing one at night, but if I am risking my health of course I will stop, please provide your source of information too, thanks everyone!

Wow, I would never fall asleep wearing a bra. Don't you feel constricted? And haven't your parents seen you naked, let alone in your pj's? It's kind of sad...
And no, it won't give you cancer, but it would sure make ME cranky.

It may not cause cancer, but would be uncomfortable, particularly when the material is synthetic which doesn't allow free flow of air. Our bodies cool down during our sleep and wearing a tight bra would make one part of the body warmer than the rest.
Maybe what you can do is to wear a cotton lace bra and a top that isn't too transparent. This would mitigate the problem to some extent. Creation of static electricity due to synthetic fiber around the breasts would also be avoided.
In many countries, women who wear bra during daytime would prefer to take them off if they have adequate covered clothing to wear at night, as it is most comfortable and aerates the breast area.
Can you get a cotton night dress with design (to camouflage the breasts), preferably with buttons at the back in your town? If you do, try it out for comfort. This might help even if there are people around the house and you have large breasts.

No it will not. In fact, you can but sleep / leasure bras that are made specifically to sleep in. The don't offer much support, just enough to keep your breasts comfortably in place. Which is why the are good for sleeping. If you are wearing a full support, or underwire bra to bed, your porbably not sleeping very well.
As an alternative to wearing a bra, you could try what I do. I sleep on my side, and use an extra pillow. I hug it close to my body so that it supports my 'upper' breast, and the mattress supports my 'lower' one. I've even learned to keep it with me when I roll over, so my breasts are always supported through the night, without a bra!!!!!

Try a sports bra at night for comfort. No, it will not cause any illnesses at all. And, in fact, if you are larger then it will help your breasts stay up as you grow older. Girls with larger breasts have the problem of having them sag simply because of the weight pulling down against the muscles. If you wear a bra, then they do not pull down and your breasts will remain more uplifted naturally.

I don't know but it is VERY uncomfortable to wear one to bed!
I don't but I'm small (A Cup) I find it much more comfortable to wear just a night shirt and nothing else.

I've heard a lot about this. It has to do with lymph drainage, which bras can inhibit. What do you think is worse: somone possibly seeing you swing free under your nightie, or possibly risk cancer or some other health problem?
Easy choice for me, hon :)

That is an urban myth. And actually it is comfortable, and a personal decision.
