He has in fact scored 2 100s in the 4th innings of Tests.
1. England v India, 1990, 2nd Test. Manchester
India was set a target of 408 in 90 overs, match was drawn
SR Tendulkar not out 119
2. Pakistan in India, 1998/99, 1st Test. Chennai
India was set a target of 271
Result: Pakistan won by 12 runs
SR Tendulkar c W Akram b Saqlain Mushtaq 136
So 2 100s, 0 wins.

Tendulkar has only scored a hundred twice while batting in the 4th innings and none of them is in winning cause. One of them is a draw and the other is in losing case against Pakistan at Chennai in year 1998. By the time he was out, I think he had done his job quite brilliantly. Had India won the match, the Innings from him would have been rated as one of the greatest innings of all time in Tests. Ir-respect of what happened in the match, I think it was his best innings in Test cricket.
Rawal.

no longer so confident with regard to the Pakistan bit :) yet definite India have a great checklist in India! If Pakistan can defeat or a minimum of draw with England then, i think, they could defeat India in England with their %. attack (even with India's extra special batting capability). we could wait and spot what happens! by employing the way Waugh could desire to be a enormously user-friendly and brave guy to declare those issues in India!

.................. tendulkar and gavasker between them must have won only ................. 4 to 5 test matches ....................... they always played and made runs to a lost match when opposition had no interest in the match anymore ................ as it was already lost by the indian team ............... check this out for yourself before you get any ideas ......

good question. plz refer the question to the selectors. i feel tendulkar is a very good player under limited circumstances but his mental toughness is wanting under trying conditions. can this record of his be compared with venkatesh prasad?
