I am 5ft 8" and my partner is 5ft 6". Everything is great expect for that when we go out and I wear heels I am very concious that I am taller. Most of my shoes are flat as I dont feel comfortable wearing heels around him. Can someone suggest how I get over this issue as I feel that it shouldn't be an isue???

You're right. It shouldn't be an issue! Try and think about what attracted you to him in the first place. It's what YOU think, and not what other people think that matters.

I know how you feel! My husband and I are exactly the same height, exactly! So when I wear heels, I feel so silly next to him. I knew I didn't want to wear heels to my wedding because I would look like a tower next to him, but everyone kept pushing me to wear them, like it was a tradition; a girl HAS to wear high heels on her wedding day! So anyway, yeah, I'm really upset about the wedding pictures!
I mean really it shouldn't be a big deal, as long as you love each other; that's what everyone keeps saying, and I know its true. Height, its really not an issue at all! But on the other hand, of course it makes you feel kind of silly sometimes when your taller than your man!
I would just suggest sticking to flats; I mean if its an issue for you, which do you prefer: the high heels or the man!

No it shouldn't be an issue either don't wear heels when out with your partner or get him some lifts. If you love each other this is a small issue 4 U.Good luck xx

you're right in saying that it shouldn't be an issue --- but in my opinion --- there is nothing more out of place than a man being substantially shorter than his female partner .
it might just be a hereditary thing with me because my mother was close on 6 foot where the old boy was closer to 5 foot --- fortunately i took after my mum ) but it really looked bad ( and him being a bad-tempered critter didn't help ) so i suppose I'm conscious of the situation every time i see a similar couple .
but i guess in your situation it's mind over matter . good luck .

That should not be an issue. If he has an issue with it, have him wear some heels so he will be taller.

relax, if u love eachother it won't matter. My aunt is 6 foot and my uncle is 5 foot something but they are fine. does he have a problem with it or is it just you? If he is a little uncomfortable, then just let him know that u still need him to look after u even though u r taller then him. Hey, it happens...so just forget about it.

I know many men who love having taller woman. Forget it, my stepsister is probably 6-7 inches taller than her bf without any shoes on. Look at Tom Cruise,....who says men need to be taller?

Get used to flat shoes. Always being taller than your partner will make him feel useless, which may end up with your relationship finishing.

It is only a problem for other people. There is no reason why it should be a problem for you if you love each other. With or without the high heels!

does it bother him? If not, then get over it...but if you are going to something where lots of pictures will be taken, a wedding etc....don't wear too big a heel .....you don't want to look silly together.....otherwise, do what you want and what you are both comfortable with...
