It's easy to do that, you see what people project, what they want you to see and wonder why you can't measure up to that. But everyone has their own set of screwed up things! Really. And it will never help you get around if you second guess where you are in life or what you're doing. You bring your own experiences, strengths and weaknesses into any situation, capitalize on the wonderfulness of you! Your feelings of sadness and insecurity are really commen and maybe instead of feeling like you should feel BAD about it, use that sensivity that you obviously have, to make your mark in your world. We're at a juncture in time right now where the world could use a lot more sensitive people making things better for others.

I had a really good sarcastic answer ready for you, until I read your "details". It is extremely difficult to assimilate in this country, especially when you are a foreign national. India, Pakistan? Regardless, I know what you are going through. If there are others here that seem to be learning faster than you - please do not worry. Everyone learns at their own pace. Hopefully, you will learn to relax and not take things so seriously that it makes you this upset. America is supposed to be the place of your dreams, and it will be. Everthing that you work towards will be yours if you try hard enough... The reality is, as you've said, once you've seen the competitive world, you lose confidence. All I can tell you, and please believe this to be true, never give up. You don't have to change your way of thinking. The more time you spend here, the more you will learn how to adapt and be successful. You are lucky and have no reason to feel insecure. Remember, the struggle you had to make it to this country; don't forget about the strength it took to get here. The hard part is over. Be patient, your time will come and you'll be successful. Good luck and welcome to your new home.

Go grab your bible and read the promises our Father tells us. He gives us confidence everyday to face whatever happens. He is always with us, and will protect us, if we listen to Him. Don't hide, go out and be the best you can, knowing He will guide you all the way.
