There will always be people who try to justfy the inequitous treatment that African Americans and other blacks are afforded at the hands of the poilce, as really they just do not want to deal with the fact that the society they live in is still very much racist.
To acknowledge this would mean that those same people would have to accept their own complicity in this racist behaviour by which I mean that silent acceptance or racism is.. nonetheless acceptance. It is better and also in a sense far cleverer to assign full and absolute responsibility onto Black society - they become therefore WRONG, or INNATELY DRIVEN towards committing crime, or DEVIANT or any other terms which people can impose on them. When other races [often white people] assign these labels to blacks it provides a form of justification for this continued racism [at least in their own minds]...
A good example of this was a tv clip I was recently sent of a black man being shot 81 times by the police. The police dog was also accidently injured yet the officers allowed the man to bleed to death whilst they airlifted the dog to hospital. When I pointed this out on a website, rather than accepting that what had happened was awful.. the majority of people went on to say that the man desereved it; that he was committing a crime , etc. Parodoxically if this same individual had been white and blacks people had made such comments then there would have been outrage.
If most of society imposes guilt on black people why would the police defer from this common held belief.
These are generally the Top 10 white reactions to the subject of Race in America: -
Source:
http://www.afrostyly.com/english/
1) Avoid discussing the topic.
Most white people are very uncomfortable with the topic of race. as this would invoke a sense of GUILT or GUILT by association. In the light of irrefutable empirical evidence and data revealing the wrongs committed against non whites, they may feel that the risk are greater than the potential rewards from discussing or debating the issue of race.
2) Attack the messenger.
When a the words of humans are truthful and irrefutable, those who brave a response will usually try to destroy the credibility of the messenger in the hope that by discrediting the messenger, the message will then be discredited. This usually manifests itself in digressing from the substance of the message and to begin to attack the form, tone, temperament and motivation of the author or speaker.
3)Point to the guilt of others.
Humans, when confronted with their transgressions or their group transgression, will attempt nullify their guilt by pointing out others who have done things bad or wrong in an attempt to draw a moral equivalence of degree and kind so that they will not appear as being out of the ordinary in their actions. This manifests itself in on the subject of race with people claiming that blacks are just as racist as whites and that blacks sold their own people into slavery. Regardless of the degree of truth in those assessments, the facts at hand are that blacks did not enslave and degrade whites for centuries…FOR PROFIT.
4. Deny that the past has an impact upon the present.
Thus, the people can then say that those things in the past were terrible, but that all the players and actors are now dead and nothing can or should be done about it. This conveniently ignores that every action produces a reaction and that the present is in fact 99.999% the consequence of the past, and that black problems of today are directly and indirectly linked to past actions of this society.
5. Call to move on.
This is an attempt to get blacks to stop focusing on the history of how or problems came about;. What this call ignores is that it is not the HISTORY of race that keeps the race issue alive with blacks. Rather, it is the social and economic deprivation of blacks today relative to whites today, that are the direct and indirect effects of past racially prejudice and discrimination, that keeps the topic of race from being moved past.
6. Accuse the messenger of hate.
Which is actually “Projection” - the phenomenon of humans projecting what would be their motives, behavior and reactions as being the motive behavior and action of others.
7. Accuse the messenger of creating racism.
Many white people will point out racial injustice as causing them [whites] to become racist or to see blacks in a negative light, when they did not before - circular racism.
8. Try to convince Blacks of their fortune.
The goal here is to highlight the fact that Blacks in America and the UK live better than blacks during slavery and in Africa, therefore, they should feel fortunate for the enslavement and oppression of 10 generations of our forefathers.
9. Love America or Leave it.
This is when they say get out of America and go live in Africa if this is such a bad place.
10. My ancestors did not own any slaves and I should not be held responsible for something that happened before my ancestors arrived here. This erroneously assumes that black oppression was limited to slavery. It can be reasoned that those acts were terrible but that all the victims and villains are now dead. However, black oppression was not simply limited to being the property of whites. Most historians on the racial history of Africans in America say that the most brutal period for blacks in the country were the first few decades after the fall of the post slavery reconstruction period also known as the “Jim Crow” era. In actua fact, blacks were oppressed overtly up until the late 60’s in America, and there are Millions of survivors living today.
Really until all of these issues are addressed there will always be justifications made and acceptance of Black people dying in such circumstances...
OH AND MORE THUMBS DOWN ARE PRECISELY THE INDICATION THAT I AM HITTING A RAW NERVE!!!

Read about the subject-it is just that more blacks commit crimes. So many people are dying at the hands of police officers and getting away with it. The police never get punished for it either which is not right. Every time I see that someone has been killed while in police custody they are never punished. They get away with it every time! Laws need to be changed. I don't think the police have any right to kill anyone under most circumstances color has nothing to do with it.

I think it is a combination of things. Economics plays a large roll in this - if you are on the lower levels of the economic scale you are more likely to commit crimes or live in high crime areas which makes you more likely to be involved in a police action thus increasing the likelihood of being a fatality at the hands of the police. Also the color of your skin plays a large factor in the chances in being involved with some type of police action. It's not like you can really assimilate when you can't change the color of your skin. Everyone's heard of influential blacks being stopped by police in affluent neighborhoods...

So the U.K. has similar occurrences as the U.S. and my stats here of course wouldn't quite fit for you. I'm a bit confused to be honest with the whole issue. There seems to be a large disconnect of common sense to me...a sub-culture that glorifies crime against woman, law enforcement and other races claims racism...just listen to some rap songs to verify that...criminals that are consistently committing violent crimes and released time and time again are unfortunately killed by law enforcement and the sub-culture cries racism? Shouldn't the large cultural group cry out against the sub-culture for the road they are gunning down?

I think its more than a communal sense than a racial discrimination. Every race in America has criminal involvement but the true nature in the eyes of law is recognized by the majority. Its not only black but there are white and latino groups indulged into crime and drug trafficking, but still majority of blacks are culpable. Thus society needs to recognize an individual rather than a race. Also different communities need to improvise in themselves to contribute rather than to commit in society.

First don't use propaganda printed in prison as a reference. Second, if you don't want to die at the hands of police don't commit crimes. I'm sure there are many more innocent black people killed by criminals, either as victims of crime or by stray bullets, than are killed by the police. So rather than spew your misguided hatred of the police that most of the time are looking out for your best interest, you should focus your energy on black on black crime or criminals in general.

Why? Because its over one hundred after the end of slavery and racism still exists, but since its not all over tv and in people's faces like it was during the Civil Rights Movement people choose to ignore it. They say that there is no more racism in America and that we're equal now, but are we really? I'm going to have to say, No!
