my periods have gotten crazier. after my daughter i would have only spotting for two days and that was it. i loved that. then they made up for it by being so heavy i would have to carry a change of clothes with me or stay at home during my heavy days. it has now returned (4 years later) to a very normal cycle i start usually on the day i'm suppose to but now my periods are anywhere from 7-11 days long. (which is terrible!!) so usually your cycle will change.

My cycles are always longer for the first several times after they return. BUT, I was also breastfeeding each time, which has an effect.

I'm 10 months post-partum and my cycles are just now starting to return to a semi-normal pattern. But, I breastfeed. So, it depends. it takes longer for fertility to return (sometimes) when you're breastfeeding.
