Honestly, just like you, when a baby is hungry, he's hungry! Feed him. If he takes the pacifier it is because he feels comforted which means hunger was never the issue. Check diapers, rock him, etc. if he cries late at night. If he will take a bottle or breatfeed it is because he NEEDS to be fed!

depend how old is your baby and what is his schedule,sometimes older babies go through the night without eat.I don't really think if he is hungry a pacifier would satisfy him.
