Won't we be flooded with the "what did you get for x-mas?, and - did you get everything you wanted for x-mas?" questions in the near future?
Wouldn't it have been better if all Christmas shopping had been forfeited, and all the monies that were to have been spent was just given to the poor & hungry people from afar who really need it?

You are right. But we all need a break sometimes. And this a nice one to forget everything that makes us sad whether it is personal or global. In x-mas we try hard to put everything behind our shoulders and just think about anything that makes us happy, realy happy even if this is just for a small period of time.

u have a point, all those kids to get presents for in my family (i love them though!), and u do have a point about the people that really need money, but hey, it only happens once a year and u have to let people have fun and enjoy the presents, after all, presents are usually only given on birthdays and then christmas so...
