What kind of lines, clotheslines ?

You have no constraints, therefore one can pick any three size of line ( a piece of wire, say; and bend it the way he wants ).

will you settle it for six lines ? here i give you four for six which comes to 1.5 lines per rectangle. isn't this half number you qoute ??

it can be done even with one line, if you do not insist that it should be straight line.
