I once got to know an Indian who was a member of the same radical Hindu organization like the man who shot Gandhi (RSS, national freedom corps). He said that he was very proud of this man, because Gandhi was "the son of 100 pigs and 100 dogs" because he wanted to make peace with Muslims. I think the killer thought same way.
Not all people like peace. Some prefer killing.

Gandhi was a peaceful man but his ideas, beliefs and policies might not have been liked by everybody during his time.
Yes, I agree with you the problem of the earth is : the human being and something should be done about these beings (huh), but anyway that's a different issue.

Gandhi's killer was a Hindu radical and he blamed Gandhi for weakening India, but in the end I think it was just because of different beliefs. That's the reason for a lot of deaths people believing their way s better than someone Else's.
