Yes, it's true. Epsom salts are packed with magnesium, and large doses of magnesium will send you straight to the toilet. I've been told that epsom salts taste terrible, though. Maybe you could just go and buy some magnesium in tablet or capsule form.
Large doses of Vitamin C will have the same effect.

But, do you know why you're constipated? It's always better to treat the cause than the symptom.

yes u can use it. add 2 tsps to a small amount of hot water, swallow quickly as it tastes horrible and repeat every 15 minutes until you have a bowel motion. its a great cleanser of the bowel. be prepared to be 'loose' for a couple of days afterwards also.

Add 2-3 teaspoons to a glass of lukewarm water, stir until dissolved then drink - fast! Be warned - it is a foul-tatsing concoction, but very effective!

Yes, it's safe. It's just magnesium, I believe. It's not a salt. You'll be okay if you drink it. People normally bathe in it and your skin absorbs it. It won't hurt you.

Hmmm, can you use a laxative as a laxative? I would say yes.

Yes, you could . . .

but why not try something a little more gentle or a lot less nasty tasting? Try an over -the-counter herbal such as Senna.
