Per "Medications & Mother's Milk" by Thomas Hale (2004 edition):

Phenazopyridine HCL -
Phenazopyridine is an azo dye that is rapidly excreted in the urine, where it exerts a topical analgesic effect on urinary tract mucosa. Pyridium is only moderately effective and produces a reddish-orange discoloration of teh urine. It may also ruin contact lenses. It is not known if pyridium transfers into breastmilk, but it probably does to a limited degree. This product, due to limited efficacy should probably not be used in lactating women although it is doubtful that it would be harmful to a n infant. This product is highly colored and can stain clothing. Stains can be removed by soaking in a solution of 0.25% sodium dithionite.

He lists it as "Lactation Risk Category L3" which means "moderately safe" and lists no pediatric concerns.

Here is a post from Dr. Hale's webpage -

Reguarding pumping and dumping, he says, "But I don't think I'd do much more than 12 hours. This stuff is not very hazardous at all. Its probably not worth the worry."

You really should be asking your DOCTOR this one. If your bladder is really bothering you I would not advise stoping the medication. Why not bottle feed him formula for a few days until this has passed.
