Milk is white because it is an emulsion not a solution, (solutions are transparent though often coloured). Milk gets it's white colour from small insoluble organic molecules, chiefly fats, that are suspended in the liquid. If you leave milk sit many of these will rise to the surface to form cream. If you leave it long enough the liquid underneath will be a transparent, light brown fluid called weigh. (not sure of the spelling there).

Milk is a emulsion of butterfat globules within a water based fluid. The largest component of milk is a protein called caesin which occupies nearly 80% of the total milk constituent. Each caesin molecule is bound into the micelles, aggregates of several thousand protein molecules, bonded with the help of nanometer-scale particles of calcium phosphate. The fat globules and smaller caesin micelles present in the milk deflect light, giving it a opaque white color. The exact component of milk varies by species.

Those chalky-white mustaches that color our lips after chugging down a refreshing ice-cold glass of creamy milk is caused by the protein called Casein.
Rich in calcium, Casein helps contribute to milk's white color.
In addition, the cream that is found in milk contains white colored fat. The more cream in milk the more white it is.

Milk contains a protein called Casein, which is white.
Also, the cream in milk contains alot of white colored fat.
So the molecules in these substances reflect light, giving it a white appearance.
