Actual experience of about 400 of my friends and members of the computer club is that the possibility of lost data bits IS higher with the faster speeds, most recommend burning at slower speeds, especially if using any of the Microsoft OSes!!!

Never experienced that in http://www.k3b.org/

We all use k3b in http://pclinuxos.com or http://ubuntu.org and 308 others, from http://livecdlist.com so we don't get "Coasters".

From my own personal experience, as long as you aren't stressing your comp while burning(playing video juegos or uber browsing), the highest speed should be prefectly reliable.
