Does anyone else think Tom Waits sounds like Cookie Monster?

Both my siblings do. I guess they're right, but I like his music, anyway.

I think he is the coolest human being on the planet.
However, I can see why kids would say that. My 8 year old brother said "I bet it hurts his voice to sing like that".
