i am a stylist- there are vitamins that you can get at like GNC- and I have seen them work- but you have to take them religiously- I have also heard that if you eat right and take multi-vitamins it will do the same thing. Vitamin E is one of the best things all around for hair and nails and skin- try that too. Mostly though- hair grows about a half an inch per month. I don't know how long your hair is, but what you don't want is for it to break at all. To prevent that- get regular trims- and make sure you tell your stylist that you want the ends "dusted" off- not even a 1/4 of an inch taken off- that way you are just getting the splits off and get it trimmed every 6-8 weeks- i am telling you it is worth it- split long hair- looks thin and fuzz- also, when you pull it back in a pony tail- do not pull it back too tightly and change the position of the pony tail on your head where you pull it back. the tension can cause the hair to break- making it take longer to grow out the pieces that have snapped.

lastly- and i know you may not believe me because i am a stylist- but i used Over-The-Counter (OTC) products- or stuff from the drug store- like suave or even pantene- while I was a hair stylist- because I didn't buy into the whole thing for a while that salon products were better. Here are a few reasons why I am now convinced that there is no comparison:

- Salon shampoos, conditioners and styling agents go thru tons of testing before they are even allowed to touch one follicle of hair- OTC products can use whatever they want, some have oven cleaners in them- alot of brands, like pantene, aussie etc. use wax- which builds up on your hair and when you use any type of heat it is like putting your hair in a frying pan- then it makes your hair brittle- then it breaks.

- Salon products are very concentrated, so a little goes a long way

- Since salon prducts use good ingredients, they actually go into the cortex of your hair and some can actually go into the hair follicle- like Nioxin-in fact, I might try that if i were you- it is normally used for people with thinning hair- but it is used to promote hair growth- give it a shot. At any rate- OTC products lay on top of the hair shaft and build up, while salon products actually go in and restore form the inside out.

Anyways- hopefully you have patience growing your hair out and you have a hair stylist that can help you through the process. Get a good shampoo and conditioner- possibly nioxin- maybe try those hair and nail vitamins for a few weeks and see if they make a difference. if you have anymore questions- email me- good luck-

I know you might laugh, but I am going to say this anyway. I use horse shampoo once a week, it's a lil beauty tip I got from someone... It really works, my hair is healthy and shiny and it grows much quicker than it normally did.

i think by combing your hair to the front of your head (towards the face..or basically the opposite way of what people usually do) would kinda help...i used to do this when my hair is too short..it kinda helps..a bit at least

Brush it a lot, trim the split ends if you have any and keep it healthy.
