If a boat is in the water with a ladder over the side that goes down 10 feet and you want the ladder to be 5 feet under water, the boat would have to be sinking. The water does not rise when a boat is floating.

What is the freeboard of the boat? Where does the ladder hit the water now?

The Boat would have to get a Hole in it and the water would have to be 15' 1" deep as it sinks.... Good luck paddling back to shore...
