Well, he graduaded from Yale University with the same level of grades that John Kerry did.
So if he's retarded, then so is John Kerry.
And being born into the Bush Family didn't hurt, although this isn't the best argument either, because he's a more effective president than his father was.

He is not dull or retarded. You don't attend an Ivy league college if you are retarded. His problem is he tries to imitate Ronald Regan and falls flat. Poor Bush is not an actor. As long as your mommy and daddy have a ton of money and you fit the other qualification sure you can run for president.

There is a big difference between being dull or retarded and being self centered and ignorant.

A dull or stupid person would not have the imagination to try much less succeed at becoming president, much less a fake similitude of one.

It is possible for a person to be so self absorbed as to not care about anything or anyone not relevant to their needs and desires, even to the point of only being concerned about the needs and desires of the moment.

That lack of concern, and perhaps a bit of dyslexia, could easily cause a deep ignorance, where personal relevance of the subject could not be immediately discerned.

That he learned to fly planes, and managed to avoid flunking out of school (if only just), and manages brutal and largely effective attacks against those he perceives as his personal enemies (Democrats and Saddam, as opposed to Bin Laden who never attacked him or his family personally) would indicate that there is intelligence there.

That he would not have a clue, or care to have one, about details of his concerns ( like that there even is a Shiite - Sunni split, much less what that means)or what to do afterwards, indicates to me a level of self absorption even beyond megalomania.

any american citizen, who meets the legal qualifications, can run for the office. as abe lincoln did even though the newspaper went to extremes of belittling rhetoric against him. study history ! we may be better served by character, focused skills as a leader. and intelligent negotiating and decision making, than having someone whose little more than a smooth acting media performer , well rehersed and promoted by the press

Sure most of the country is more intelligent than he is. But does everyone else have a ton of money? Or a father who was already in power? Most don't.. Which is the only reasons they couldn't be.

Anyone with a pleasant smile, who can lie convincingly and will bow to the God Haliburton can be president. George proved you don't need a brain.

Carl Rove mentioned the other day that he(Rove) had 50 books on W Churchill in his personal library. No one in the know is sure whether Rove or Pres Bush reads more books. Bush? 1 per day. Quit making an *** of yourself and read one yourself. Parroting familiar claptrap does not become you.
